Imbalie Beauty announces resignation of Bheki Shongwe as chairman

Imbalie Beauty has released a statement confirming the resignation of its board chairman, Bheki Shongwe, with the statement failing to provide a detailed reason for his resignation.

Imbalie Beauty Limited, as part of its obligation as a Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE)-listed company, released a statement on Monday, 11 January 2021, announcing the resignation of the board of directors’ chairman, Bheki Shongwe.

According to the statement, “In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the board of directors of the Company (the “Board”) hereby notifies its shareholders that Mr Bheki Shongwe has resigned as the independent non-executive chairman of the company with effect from Thursday, 7 January 2021. Mr Shongwe’s resignation has been necessitated by his current commitments.”

However, the “current commitments” that led to his resignation were not elaborated on. Imablie Beauty has yet to confirm when the vacant position will be filled, and by whom.
