The IFP has shared an infographic emphasising the importance of citizens updating their information with the IEC this coming weekend, in light of the commission’s voter registration drive.
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) took to Twitter on Friday, 2 October 2020, to stress the importance of South Africans updating their information with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) this coming weekend. The political party’s infographic highlighted the importance of every eligible voter having their voice heard at the next elections, which will not be possible if the voters’ information is not updated.
According to the IFP, “This weekend will be a test-run for the IEC in ensuring that polling stations adhere to strict COVID-19 regulations, and in ensuring that all IEC officials and the general public will be safe while exercising their democratic rights in registering to vote.”
The IFP went on to stipulate that if past voters are interested in verifying their personal information, the IEC’s online portal should be accessed for further clarity on the process.
