The IFP has welcomed the ruling by the ConCourt, but has called on Jacob Zuma supporters to practice calm and restraint and accept the ruling on the matter.
On Tuesday, 29 June 2021, the Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) took to Twitter to issue a statement acknowledging the ruling by the Constitutional Court on the matter of former president, Jacob Zuma’s failure to comply with the directive of the State Capture Commission. Zuma has been sentenced to 15 months in prison by the ConCourt.
The IFP has welcomed the ruling, but has noted that the matter would not have reached this point had Zuma simply complied with the directive of the State Capture Commission. The party also expressed its hope that Zuma will at least now honour and respect this ruling, and comply with the ruling that he is to submit himself to the law enforcement within the next five days. The IFP has also called on Zuma supporters, and the public at large, to be calm through this matter.
