Due to the pandemic, tertiary institutions have now started encouraging prospective students to apply online, rather than opting for an in-person application, with UNISA not being an exception.
UNISA, similar to most leading tertiary institutions in the country, has prioritised online applications. The move towards online applications was one that was pushed even before the pandemic. However, with the pandemic, online applications have been championed by many institutions, and UNISA has created a page detailing all the required supporting documents for applications.
The required documents include a copy of the applicant’s identity document and senior certificate (SC) or national senior certificate (NSC). Additionally, should the applicant have attended tertiary elsewhere previously, they will need to produce an academic statement as proof.
Currently, the undergraduate and postgraduate applications are closed. However, students that wish to apply for a short course or a master’s and doctorate qualification can do so here. Prospective UNISA students who have already received their student number are encouraged to pay their application fee for consideration.
