Holomisa has shared a letter addressed to the Minister of Transport and SANRAL CEO on the grievances of Lambasi community members, regarding the failed promises on the Wild Coast Project.
On Thursday, 2 September 2021, leader of the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Bantu Holomisa published a letter addressed to the Minister of Transport and the South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) CEO, related to the matter of the Lambasi (Lusikisiki) community’s loss of faith in the agency’s N2 Wild Coast Project. Holomisa notified Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula and SANRAL CEO, Skhumbuzo Macozoma that he received complaints from the community, expressing grievances on the N2 project currently being carried out by SANRAL.
According to Holomisa, the community is said to be aggrieved by empty promises on employment by SANRAL, and the construction company under it, Concor Holdings. Community members are described by Holomisa as feeling deceived by both SANRAL and Concor Holdings, whom they believe have failed in executing their promises of providing economic stimulus to the area and affording the desperately poor employment opportunities.
