Herman Mashaba and Mzwanele Manyi face off on Twitter

Herman Mashaba and Mzwanele Manyi were involved in a back-and-forth on Twitter, after Manyi suggested that Action SA is against prioritising South Africans in the country.

Leader of Action SA, Herman Mashaba and the African Transformation Movement’s (ATM) Head of Policy and Strategy, Mzwanele Manyi, faced off on Twitter on Tuesday, 6 October 2020.

The first inflammatory tweet was from Manyi, with a reference to Mashaba’s iterations on why he does not support the #PutSouthAfricansFirst movement. Manyi stated, “For ATM, #PutSouthAfricansFirst was never about xenophobia, but prioritising citizens in service delivery and jobs.”

In response, Mashaba suggested that the ATM was “established by a faction of the ANC that lost the presidency and the power to continue looting. It was never about SA citizens.”

The response led to Manyi listing all the allegations of theft he believes the movement used to form its identity. This led to Mashaba questioning why Mzwanele opted for the name, after being referred to as Jimmy in the past.

In the end, Manyi had the last word, suggesting a public debate between himself and Mashaba. This is a post that Mashaba has not responded to yet.
