A ‘Snow Festival in March’ with ‘Hallyu’ stars will take place in South Korea, between 9 and 18 March. According to the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), the 10 days festival aims at boosting domestic and international tourism, as part of South Korea’s efforts to promote the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
‘Hallyu (Hangeul: 한류)’, or Korean Wave stars have been named as honorary ambassadors for the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics and the Paralympic Winter Games, and they will take part in the event as well.
The Snow Festival in March will kick off on Friday, 9 March, with actor Jang Keun-suk (장근석)’s two-day meeting with fans. On the second day, he will watch an ice hockey event in Gangneung, a sub-host city of the March 9-18 games located some 230 kilometers east of Seoul, together with 2,018 fans he bought tickets for.
On Tuesday, 13 March, actor Lee Dong-wook (이동욱) will also hold a ‘fan meeting’. He bought 1,000 tickets to watch an ice hockey match with his fans.
On Thursday, 15 March, a K-pop performance will feature various artists, including B1A4 and BTOB that will take place at Gangneung Haeram Cultural Center.
Ski Korea X EDM Festival will be on 11, 14 and 17 March, featuring DJ Hanmin, Soda and Glory.
Hosted by Korea Tourism Organization and Gangwon Provice, the Hallyu & Ski Festival with the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games is free.
