Gwede Mantashe views series of letters as choreographed attack on Ramaphosa
Gwede Mantashe addressed the topical letter from Jacob Zuma during the ANC’s virtual debriefing on the recent NEC meeting, stating that it appears to form part of a choreographed attack on Ramaphosa.
National Chairperson of the African National Congress (ANC), Gwede Mantashe made one of his first appearances since recovering from COVID-19 at the party’s virtual debriefing on the recent National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting. In the debriefing, which took place on Monday, 31 August 2020, Mantashe speculated about the timing of a series of letters believed to be an attack on President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Amongst the various topical matters that he addressed was the contentious letter from former president, Jacob Zuma. Mantashe questioned the timing of the letter, which was supposedly leaked on Friday, 28 August 2020, ahead of the NEC meeting. Mantashe further highlighted how it followed a string of other letters. He then stated that the letters appear to be a “choreographed attacked on the president.”
