Gordhan to appear before State Capture Commission

Published on

The State Capture Commission has confirmed that Minister Pravin Gordhan is set to appear before it today for a cross examination by Tom Moyane.

The Zondo State Capture Commission took to Twitter on Sunday, 29 November 2020, and confirmed that Minister of Public Enterprises, Pravin Gordhan is set to take the stand today, 30 November 2020. Gordhan, who has spent two years away from the State Capture Commission since failing to make his return, is set to be cross examined by Tom Moyane.

The two have a history relating to the commission; Gordhan alleged that Moyane laid criminal charges against him as a self-serving tactic. Moyane has, in the past, confronted Gordhan about the approval of the early retirement of former SARS Deputy Commissioner, Ivan Pillay. Moyane has also raised questions about Gordhan’s role in the establishment of the SARS Rouge Unit.

The State Capture Commission proceedings are set to start at 10:00, with members of the press and the public being advised that the commission will observe COVID-19 safety protocols.
