GOOD’s Troon alleges Mayor Bhanga’s involvement in car crash

Lawrence Troon of GOOD has alleged the Mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay’s involvement in a car crash, and has called on residents to vote Mayor Bhanga out.

Member of GOOD in Nelson Mandela Bay, Lawrence Troon issued a statement on Sunday, 29 August 2021, in which he called the Mayor of the Bay, Nqaba Bhanga an “unguided missile.” Troon alleged that a few years ago, a young woman, believed to be Bhanga’s girlfriend, had been killed in a car crash involving his driver. Moreover, on Saturday, 28 August 2021, two people died in a crash that reportedly involved the mayor.

Troon noted that reports of a charge of culpable homicide is under investigation by police, stating that it is welcomed by GOOD. Troon further noted that it has also been alleged that photographs of the crash scene seem to indicate that Bhanga was in possession of tender documents, which is said to be unlawful for a mayor to have.

Troon also stated that it is still unclear if the accident had occurred past the deadline of the curfew, and should this be the case, Bhanga is to explain why he was on the road. Troon indicated that as Bhanga is not only a sitting mayor, but has also been announced as the mayoral candidate of the Democratic Alliance, it is time that people vote him out.
