GOOD SG suggests FW de Klerk Foundation statement may be a threat

The GOOD SG believes that the FW de Klerk Foundation statement is a threat to the NPA to stay in its lane, otherwise the ANC will face the consequences.

The GOOD party issued a statement by its Secretary-General, Brett Herron on Wednesday, 7 July 2021, which explores and details the FW de Klerk Foundation’s statement on the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA). This comes after the NPA stopped the prosecution of apartheid-era crimes due to “an informal agreement between the ANC leadership and former operatives of the pre-1994 government.”

Herron claims that the statement by the foundation confirms the existence of a dirty deal between the African National Congress (ANC) and the country’s former apartheid masters. Furthermore, according to Herron, this “dirty deal” betrayed natural justice, deceived friends and families of some of South Africa’s most celebrated anti-apartheid activists killed by apartheid security forces, and destroyed the integrity of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC).

Herron further states that the statement by the foundation suggests that the NPA was captured long before the term “state capture” rose to prominence, and that the ANC had accomplices in the genesis of the current “capture pandemic” of the country. According to the de Klerk Foundation, the NPA was captured following a secret political deal between the NPA and the ANC at the time. Herron believes the statement is a threat to the NPA and ANC.
