Fans of Generations: The Legacy, here is an overview of yesterday’s episode and a teaser for what is to come.
Last night’s episode of Generations: The Legacy saw family members plotting against each other, an ex-husband taunting his former partner with threatening phone calls and a little bit of misguided romance.
Fans of the show should have been intrigued by the enveloping storylines.
Here is an overview of exactly what happened:
Kumikani continued to taunt Thsidi with messages and phone calls about the money she stole. He revealed that it is his intention to drive her mad. However, when alone with her in person he played the sweet, adoring boyfriend role to allay her suspicious of his intentions.
The central arch of the episode was focused around Rori’s first birthday party. As the family members gathered to celebrate, they hatched a plan to expose Jack and his shady dealings.
Bafana agreed to defend Michael in court as a means to fight Jack. Michael started drinking again after losing his job.
Lesedi defended Jason when he was called out for being a bully. She also spent more time with Brandon.
Jack turned up to Rori’s party with Joe Jackson. The family realised it was his way of ensuring leverage and power over them.
At the end of the party, Mazwi kissed Sphe. She was shocked and confused.

Technical analysis
The family gathering and party scenes of this episode seemed to be poorly written as characters repeated what another had just said. This over-simplified style of dialogue can be frustrating to an audience as they may feel as if they are being spoon fed information. Writers should trust fans to be aware of past events and script dialogue without long expositions.
