Published on

The Gcaba brothers and family have refuted all allegations against them, in relation to the acts of violence in the country, despite their support of the Zuma family.

Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula has shared a statement issued by the Gcaba brothers and family on Monday, 12 July 2021. The Gcaba brothers, who also happen to be the nephews of former president, Jacob Zuma, issued a statement on behalf of their family distancing themselves from claims of their involvement in the ongoing unrest engulfing the country.

According to the statement, the brothers and family refute and reject all allegations that they are in any way involved in the current acts of violence transpiring in the country. The brothers stated that as much as they support the former president and his family as relatives, they have made it a point that the lines are not blurred.

The brothers  also addressed and further refuted damaging claims said to be circulating on WhatsApp by unknown people, as well as news reports alleging the family’s involvement in acts of breaking the law. The Gcaba brothers stated that their businesses in the transport sector have also been affected, much like everyone else. They ended by stating that they do not condone or support acts of violence and unrest, damage to property, and loss of life.
