Published on

According to the government spokesman, Information Minister Lenn Eugene Nagbe, the patient is Nathaniel Blama, Director General of the Environmental Protection Agency.

He reportedly returned home on Friday, 13 March 2020, following a visit to Switzerland.

In an apparent response to this development, President George Manneh Weah has banned travels to and from countries that have recorded more than two-hundred cases of the virus. The Liberian leader has also mandated the Civil Service Agency to lay off all non-essential staffs working in government and banned public gatherings until further notice.

The  Liberian Leader has, at the same time, called off the county tour he was supposed to embark on this month. On top of this, he called on all public institutions to use preventive measures and for healthy people to stay away from sick people to prevent the virus from spreading.
