Fikile Mbalula has responded to Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s criticism of the opening of Pampoennek Road, which he described as “self-promoting,” with diplomatic statements on Twitter.
Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula responded to the Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Mbuyiseni Ndlozi’s criticism on Thursday, 3 September 2020. The inflammatory tweet by Ndlozi lambasted Mbalula for documenting the opening of Pampoennek Road, which he dismissed as a “self-promoting” effort.
In addition to highlight that the ANC failed to rename the Cape Town International Airport to the Winnie Mandela Airport, Ndlozi described the road opening as an “easy victory and narcissistic plaque.” In his response, Mbalula explained that he was merely documenting the opening of the road, highlighting that it is not named after him.
Ndlozi responded by reiterating his previous statement about having the airport renamed after the late struggle stalwart.
