The FF Plus is calling for an investigation by the Midvaal Municipality into a planned low-cost housing project on the feasibility of the project, given Midvaal’s already poor sewerage infrastructure.
The Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) issued a statement on Thursday, 14 October 2021, in which it requested that the Midvaal local municipality refer a planned low-cost housing project between Meyerton’s industrial and residential area to the committee for development and planning, for further investigation into the feasibility of the project. The planned project is noted by the party to provide more than 100 low-cost housing units located less than a mile from Meyerton’s central business district.
The FF Plus pointed out how the sewerage infrastructure in Midvaal is already under severe strain, and therefore, it has requested the municipal council to first stop all building projects until the sewerage treatment plant is completed. The party also expressed that the Midvaal municipality needs to first investigate the expansion of the existing industrial area in order to make development possible.
