FF Plus believes ANC has destroyed SA at a local level

Published on

The FF Plus has published questions posed to ministers on the decay within the municipalities of SA, conveying that the ANC was destroying the country at a local level.

On Wednesday, 15 September 2021, the Freedom Front Plus (FF Plus) issued a statement on the questions it had put forward to ministers, pointing to what is has referred to as the decay of South African municipalities.

The party noted that the rot of municipalities in South Africa and the role of the African National Congress’ (ANC) infighting due to this is a concerning reality. The FF Plus further stated that its questions to, and amongst others, the Minister of Local Government and Traditional Affairs, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, confirmed that the situation is so dire that crisis management has largely replaced normal service delivery.

It is also of the view that the ANC is destroying the country at a local level and has expressed that all right-thinking South Africans will have the opportunity to stand with the FF Plus in the elections to stop municipal decay.

See the post below.

What was Minister Dlamini-Zuma’s response on plans to maintain infrastructure?

According to the minister, only 45 percent of all municipalities in the country had plans for the maintenance of infrastructure for their respective municipal services. Of the 45 percent, the FF Plus further noted that only 10 percent had already fully implemented their plans.

What findings did FF Plus note from the auditor-general?

The FF Plus noted that the AG’s report on the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) reported 41 percent of audited municipalities had no approved policy on the routine maintenance of water and sanitation infrastructure, while 27 percent had no road maintenance plans.

What answers did the FF Plus receive with regards to dumping of waste?

Regarding safe dumping of waste, the FF Plus addressed a question to Barbara Creecy, Minister of Environmental Affairs on the number of municipalities that had applied to obtain licenses for waste treatment. Only two have done so.
