EXO to be the first K-pop act to have a commemorative medal

EXO will have a commemorative medal produced by Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO).

On Monday, 12 March, Korea Minting and Security Printing Corporation (KOMSCO, 한국조폐공사) which is responsible for printing and minting the banknotes and coins and other government documents, announced it will be producing a commemorative medal dedicated to boy band EXO (엑소) to celebrate the top idol group’s achievements.

EXO will be the first K-pop group to have a commemorative medal made for the group’s worldwide achievements and contribution to the distribution of the Korean Wave (Hallyu, or한류 in Hangeul).

The medal will feature each member’s face on the front face, and EXO’s logo on the back face, along with preventive measures against counterfeits.

According to KOMSCO, EXO’s official commemorative medal will be released in April.
