EFFSWA rejects King Mswati’s call for dialogue after sibaya ritual

EFF of Swaziland has rejected the call for dialogue by King Mswati at his ritual, and also rejected the SADC’s acceptance of such a call given the circumstances.

The Economic Freedom Fighters of Swaziland (EFFSWA) issued a statement on Monday, 25 October 2021, in response to King Mswati’s call for dialogue at his cattle byre after his incwala ritual. The EFFSWA came out to reject this call, calling it despotic.

The EFFSWA also condemned the Southern African Development Community (SADC) for accepting this form of dialogue, after the EFF had proven to them that the sibaya was not a conducive place for such. The party also noted how it has been claiming all along that Mswati does not care about anyone other than himself and his children, and would never take a matter raised by the people urgently and with the dignity it deserves.

It further stated that it believes that if the king was committed to an all-inclusive dialogue, he would stop his ritual and attend to it urgently. The EFFSWA called on people not to attend the sibaya
