EFF reacts to Mpofu representing Zuma
EFF CIC, Julius Malema has addressed the media on his and the party’s reactions to former National Chairperson of the EFF, Advocate Dali Mpofu representing Jacob Zuma in his trial.
It seems that the EFF and party leader, Julius Malema are not fazed by their former National Chairperson, Advocate Dali Mpofu taking on the responsibility of representing Jacob Zuma in his ongoing corruption and fraud trial at the Pietermaritzburg High Court. Advocate Mpofu was by Zuma’s side at his trial on Wednesday, 26 May 2021.
The CIC made it clear to the media and the public that they should not anticipate any negative reaction from the party on these events just because Mpofu is their former National Chairperson. Moreover, he added that Mpofu, as an advocate of state, will do his job as required of him, no matter who it is for.
“They have taken a professional oath and we should allow them… the same applies to legal councils, we must allow them to do their work without any political interference. We must respect their professional responsibilities,” said Malema in a video shared on Twitter on Wednesday, 2 June 2021.
