EFF Mpumalanga highlights irregular appointment of learner traffic officers

Published on

The EFF’s Mpumalanga branch has released a statement questioning the ruling party’s role in the irregular appointment of learner traffic officers in the province.

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Mpumalanga branch took to Twitter on Monday, 4 January 2021, to circulate a statement highlighting its allegations against the African National Congress (ANC) in the province. The EFF has shone a light on the irregular appointment of learner traffic officers, some of whom did not meet the requirements.

In placing the blame on the ruling party, the statement read, “Upon investigation, the EFF did establish that indeed some people did not undergo the interview process and some meet the necessary requirements. The EFF further established that the selection process was done in the office of the Premier, which was way out of its mandate and not the custodian of traffic matters.”

The opposition party has confirmed that it has written to various provincial departments looking for answers on the irregularities. Moreover, the branch has resolved that should it not receive satisfactory answers, it is prepared to take the legal route.
