EFF criticises government’s lack of transparency since COVID-19 outbreak

Published on

The EFF has released a statement on its stance on the imminent move to Level 1, however, it criticised the government’s lack of transparency since the start of the pandemic.

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) took to Twitter on Thursday, 17 September 2020, to release a statement about its stance on the country’s imminent move Level 1. However, the EFF suggested that the ruling party has not been transparent enough since the COVID-19 outbreak.

“The EFF will closely monitor government’s programmes and responses because almost everything they said about COVID-19 does not seem to be a reflection of reality,” the statement read.

The party then expanded on its stance, claiming, “[The] South African Government’s response has been less than satisfactory, defined by [the] non-disclosure of important data indicators, such as the demographic profiles of those infected and/or [have] died from COVID-19.”
