DRDGold Limited reports increases in gold production and sales

DRDGold Limited has issued its operating update for the quarter ended 30 September 2021, reporting increases in both gold production and sales for the period.

On Monday, 25 October 2021, DRDGold Limited issued its operating update for the quarter ended 30 September 2021. The company reported an increase in gold production by 7 percent from the previous quarter to 1.449kg, due to an 8 percent increase in yield. Gold sales increased by 5 percent to 1.428kg.

Cash operating costs are said to have decreased by 5 percent per kilogram of gold sold to R566.317 per kilogram, with the cash operating cost per ton of material processed increased to R114 per ton. This marks an increase of 6 percent.

The adjusted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization increased by 16 percent from the previous quarter to R350.8 million, due to the 5 percent increase in gold sales and a 2 percent increase in the average rand gold price received. DRDGold also confirmed that it remains in a favourable position to declare an interim cash dividend in or around February 2022.
