The Gombe High Court in Kinshasa postponed the trial of Vital Kamerhe to Monday, 25 May 2020.
The postponement of the hearings was requested by lawyers for Kamerhe, Chief of Staff to President Félix Tshisekedi. They want to be able to better understand the file.
Vital Kamerhe has been in pre-trial detention since April 8 at Makala prison, for an alleged embezzlement of more than $50 million in funds intended for the Hundred Days Program.
He will be appearing at the same time as the Lebanese businessman Jammal Samih and the manager of the import-export service at the presidency of the Republic Jeannot Muhima Ndoole.
