Shein delivers – even in South Africa’s rural areas

Published on

Both Aramex and Buffalo couriers, which are Shein’s local partners, will deliver your Shein order straight to your door, even in rural areas.

Ordering from Shein if you live in a rural area in South Africa may seem daunting. But since the company partners with Aramex and Buffalo for local deliveries once your package clear customs, your order will likely be delivered without a problem.

Shein delivers – even in South Africa’s rural areas

Online shopping is always a bit scary, but it can be quite overwhelming to have your items shipped halfway across the world to South Africa, and then having to worry about whether the courier service will be able to bring your package to your doorstep.

Fortunately, Shein is a pretty safe bet. Once your Shein package clears the South African borders, it will most likely be picked up by either Aramex or Buffalo.

Buffalo offers local delivery to “the entire South Africa” and elaborates that this includes major centres, regional towns and outlying areas.

Aramex, on the other hand considers any area within 50 km of Johannesburg, Pretoria, Polokwane, Rustenburg, Nelspruit, Vaal Triangle, Kimberley, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, George, Port Elizabeth, East London, Durban, Pietermaritzburg, Stellenbosch, and Richards Bay main centres.

Thus, they also deliver to pretty much anywhere in South Africa, including mines, power stations, plots or farms, military bases, ports and harbours, embassies, and consulates.

How long does delivery take?

Typically, your Shein order should only take about 10 to 14 business days to arrive at your door. But the customs clearance process can interfere with this estimate.

However, once your order has been released by customs and is in the hands of the courier service, it should only take a few days to get to you.

Buffalo delivers to outlying areas within seven working days and Aramex claims that it will deliver to rural areas within 72 hours.

Does delivery to rural areas incur additional charges?

You will pay for the shipping of your Shein order when you place the order (or your shipping will be free if the value of your order is more than R1,050).

However, besides the additional customs fees that you might need to pay when your package arrives at the border, you will usually not be charged an additional shipping fee for delivery to outlying areas.

What happens if your items get lost?

If you suspect that your Shein order may have gotten lost along the way after it was cleared by customs, you should reach out to the courier service’s Customer Support team for assistance.

Customers also have 90 days from the date of their payment to air any grievances about lost orders or items with Shein directly.
