Disney Channel Africa released a promo video on YouTube announcing the launch of an new animated series based on the 101 Dalmatian story.
Disney Channel Africa revealed on Monday, 10 December 2018, that it was launching a new puppy themed animated series.
The company posted a promo video featuring the puppies from a 101 dalmatians. The quirky new kids show is called “101 Dalmatian Street”. “Join Dolly and Dylan on their daily adventures with all their pup friends,” the company said in the promo.
The clip shows the two main characters, Dolly and Dylan, getting up to all sorts of shenanigans at home and in the park. The show is based on the classic animated film released in 1961 where a fashion-crazed Cruella DeVille kidnaps a litter of Dalmatian puppies to harvest their spotted fur for her coats.
Disney Channel Africa uploads clips from the scenes of their popular shows for their young audience to enjoy online. The company was excited for the launch and called the new series “a brand new twist in a much loved Disney tale.” The show comes during a period when popular Disney films like Tangled and Hotel Transylvania have been adapted for the small screen.
The first episode of the show will be launched exclusively on DSTV channel 303 at 08:30 on Friday, 14 December 2018.
