DEL has announced the opening of the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention National Pathway Management Network Innovation Fund funding round, to support innovative solutions to economic participation of youth.
The Department of Employment and Labour announced on Tuesday, 2 November 2021, that together with National Treasury’s Jobs Fund, it would be opening the Presidential Youth Employment Intervention National Pathway Management Network Innovation Fund funding round. Proposals from private, public and non-profit entities that can participate in the National Pathway Management Network via the Innovation Fund have been welcomed.
The fund is set to support initiatives focused on resolving barriers in three key areas, namely demand activation, supply and enablement of youth and supporting linkages between the demand and supply of opportunities of employment, and learning and self-employment. Funding will be available with a minimum grant request available of R3 million per applicant, and the maximum grant request available will be R15 million. The minimum matched funding requirements for government institutions is 1:0.5, non-government institutions and NGO’s is 1:0.5 and for private sector applicants, its 1:1.0.
