Dean Macpherson casts doubt over Patricia de Lille’s claims

The DA’s Dean Macpherson took to social media and shared his stance on the statement released by Patricia de Lille over the allegations of corruption levelled against her.

The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Dean Macpherson took to Twitter on Tuesday, 22 September 2020, to address the statement released by the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Patricia de Lille. On Monday, 21 September 2020, de Lille released a statement addressing the corruption allegations levelled against her, which resulted in the DA calling for her dismissal.

The statement claimed her innocence, and suggested that the allegations were levelled against her as a way to taint her efforts to fight what was an already corrupt department. In his tweet on the statement and subsequent interviews she has held on the matter, Macpherson claimed that the minister is playing the “victim.” Macpherson continued to suggest that the trait is one that de Lille has used to navigate her political relationships, as the minister has jumped ship from several political parties throughout her career.
