The DBE took to Twitter to circulate the countdown to the closing date of the 2020 matriculants’ second chance mid-year exam applications.
The Department of Basic Education (DBE) took to Twitter on Monday, 22 March 2021, to mark the four-day countdown to the closing date for second chance matric rewrites. Currently, the department is focused on canvassing for 2020 matriculants that are looking to either improve on or pass their mid-year examinations.
According to the post, matriculants looking to do so can use the department’s online platform to apply for the rewrites. Moreover, should one not have access to the DBE’s online platform, then they could visit the department’s district offices to apply. Rewrites are different from the previous year’s National Senior Certificate examination process, as the learner need only apply for subjects that they want to improve their marks on, or only the subjects that they failed.
The closing date for applications is Friday, 26 March 2021. No closing time for online applications has been stipulated, however, applications are set to close when district offices close for physical applications.
