DBE prepares to release 2020 matric results

The DBE took to Twitter to announce that it is set to publicise the 2020 matric results on Monday, 22 February 2021.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) took to Twitter on Thursday, 18 February 2021, to announce the date for the announcement of the national senior certificate (NSC) final results. The department finished marking the examinations scripts ahead of time. This happened despite concerns over the rising COVID-19 infections and some teachers dropping out, falling sick or passing due to COVID-19.

Moreover, when the results were submitted to Umalusi for verification, the department stated that the results were approved. However, some subjects’ overall marks were reportedly adjusted. The availability of the marks comes as the class of 2020 prepares for higher learning and need the marks to ascertain if they qualify for admission. Moreover, the availability of the marks will ensure that provisionally funded students can confirm their placements and enroll through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS).

The presentation is set to take place on Monday, 22 February 2021. Details on the time and how the public can view the presentation have yet to be shared.
