DBE confirms Umalusi has approved matric final results

The DBE has released a statement confirming that Umalusi has approved the 2020 matric final results, meaning that the department is on schedule to release the marks as planned.

The Department of Basic Education (DBE) took to Twitter on Monday, 15 February 2021, to confirm that Umalusi has approved of the national senior certificate (NSC) results that were submitted by the department. The approval of the results means that the DBE is on schedule to release the final NSC results as initially planned.

This is despite the fears of the department falling behind schedule, given that the marking process began amid the second wave and fears of contamination. The DBE has continually managed to stay on schedule and exceed the expectations of many, considering that the marking process was finished ahead of time.

While the department is on schedule, there has been no affirmative word on the release date of the results at the moment. However, the entire matter should be concluded by the end of the month, due to the reopening of higher learning institutions in March.
