Dada Morero on hiring foreigners in JMPD

Just when you thought the ANC couldn’t get any worse, I bring you Dada Morero.

This is what Morero, who is Johannesburg’s newly re-installed Mayor had to say on foreign nationals:

“Comrade Chair, Deputy Chair, I always ask this question: That none of our police men and women in uniform can speak any of the foreign African languages, and the challenge is for us to deal with crime. And you can have all your suspects here, before they write their statements, they can plan what they are going to say in front of you, without you even hearing [understanding] what they are saying. It might be a culture shock to suggest to this REC [Regional Executive Committee], but if we are serious about fighting crime in Ward 67, we have no option. Those that are properly documented, with proper documents can be recruited to the Johannesburg Metro Police Department.”

What a brain-dead idea. South Africa already has 11 official languages and the lingua franca is English.

How does a foreign national get proper documentation without knowing any of these languages, especially English? Not even rudimentary conversational English?

If anything, those who do not know, are likely illegal immigrants. So, in effect, this Morero chap wants South African law enforcement to bend over to the will of illegal immigrants and illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration, which, together with the ghettoization and decay of South African cities, has been encouraged and facilitated by the ANC’s corruption and open borders since they came into power, some 30 years ago.

Morero is also not reading the room. Illegal immigration is a bread and butter issue for many South Africans.

Illegal immigrants pouring into the country’s porous borders means that already poor locals now have to compete for low-to-mid skill jobs, rental housing and even government-disbursed housing, thanks to ANC corruption.

And South Africa, already dealing with high crime levels is also now confronted with new crimes and forms of crime, committed with wanton disregard by some foreign nationals who acquire false identities and bribe their way from entry to departure from South Africa.

Also, it is such a slap in the face of the millions of unemployed South Africans, and thousands of reservist police offers, who are already waiting in the wings.

Not to mention the thousands of South Africans with university degrees in foreign languages, unable to find work, whether as admin staff at police stations or as court interpreters.

Aside from the above, the national security risk that such a proposal would present would have dire consequences for this country.

The reason the armed forces and law enforcement agencies of any country hire citizens is to ensure that the country’s most guarded secrets remain that way, and that you never have questionable allegiances.

With this sort of thinking, no wonder the ANC lost the majority vote in the recent 2024 elections, and will likely lose even more votes come the next local government elections in 2026.

Until then, South Africans will have to suffer the almost daily barrage of corrupt and inept ideas that only ANC members would suggest.

good day, i seems to suspect maybe Dada Morero himself is not a son of the soil of the Republic of South Africa. None of the foreigners should be employed in any security sector this simply mean (SAPS,SECURITY OFFICER, TRAFFIC OFFICER and HOME AFFAIRS). This will compromise our safety in the RSA. I cant believe he opted to recruit instead of introducing some of the law enforcer to learn foreign languages. The constitution and immigration Act simply explain who should be employed. What happened to Special skills that we dont have in our country. Those are the only Job they might be subjected to not what Dada Morero is talking about. To employ documented foreigners to work under our states department is to open a loopholes to add to over population while we are already over loading the home affairs system. There’s a need to do more vetting to Dada Morero about his resident status.
