DA wants to see Magashule behind bars
The DA is amongst those celebrating the legal action being taken against the ANC’s Ace Magashule, and has called for him to pay back the R255 million he was allegedly involved in looting.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) took to Twitter on Friday, 13 November 2020, to dedicate its timeline to engaging on the current topical issue of the African National Congress’ (ANC) Secretary-General (SG), Ace Magashule’s first day at the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court.
Earlier in the week, the politician was thought to have been issued with a warrant of arrest by the Hawks over his suspected involvement in the controversial Free State asbestos housing project.
However, it turns out that it was the DA that pursued criminal charges against Magashule until he finally had his day in court. In one post reflecting on the work it took to finally see Magashule being held accountable, the DA wrote, “The DA’s Leona Kleynhans has pursued the R255 million asbestos case since 2015 and laid criminal charges against Ace Magashule in May this year. Unlike Ramaphosa, we will not turn a blind eye to ANC corruption and abuse of power.”
The party has not only created graphics calling for Magashule to pay back the R225 million, but has also categorically stated that it wants to see Magashule behind bars.
