DA to report Majodina to Ethics Committee for son’s dubious PPE tender

The DA wants Parliament’s Ethics Committee to curb corruption by holding ANC Chief Whip, Pemmy Majodina responsible for her son’s dodgy PPE contract.

On Tuesday, 20 April 2021, DA Chief Whip, Natasha Mazzone released a statement in response to the corruption allegations levelled against her ANC counterpart, Pemmy Majodina’s son. Majodina confirmed on Sunday, 18 April 2021, that her son, Mkhonto weSizwe Majodina, benefitted from a personal protective equipment (PPE) tender.

The ANC Chief Whip’s son reportedly secured a deal to supply the ANC with thermometers worth R52 500.

Although Majodina voluntarily subjected herself to the probe, Mazzone wants the committee to investigate the matter urgently. She stated, “South Africans need parliamentarians who are beyond reproach, especially those tasked with senior positions in Parliament where they are meant to hold public office bearers, to account and demonstrate their oversight mandates.”
