The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced a scheduled parliamentary debate on farm attacks and murders, in an effort to put pressure on the government to tackle the issue.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) has announced a parliamentary debate on the prevalent farm attacks and murders, which is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 1 September 2020. The opposition party has been very vocal about the need for stricter measures to be taken against perpetrators of the continued attacks and murders of farmers. The debate appears to be a continuation of the party’s efforts to put pressure on the ruling party to address the pertinent issue.
DA leader, John Steenhuisen, voiced the video that announced that the party has sponsored a parliamentary debate to encourage the government to take action against the attacks. The post stated that the party is looking for a “credible plan” to address a matter that mostly affects “farmers, farm workers and rural communities.”
The debate is scheduled to take place at 14:00.
