DA KZN determined to secure first municipality in province

The DA’s Dean Macpherson has assured that the DA of KZN is more than ready for the upcoming local government elections, having released its candidate lists contesting 901 wards.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Chairperson, Dean Macpherson issued a statement on Monday, 6 September 2021, assuring that the DA in the province is ready to make history in the upcoming local government elections, as it has released its candidate list. Macpherson noted that this would be the first time in the party’s history that it would be contesting all 901 wards in the province.

According to him, it is a reflection of the party’s growth in KZN as well as interest shown by the public to stand as DA Councillors. The party also stated that its candidates represent the full spectrum of KZN from having experience in local governance and in the private sector, to gender, race and ethnicity. The DA further expressed its determination in obtaining its first municipality in the province, and assured that the DA KZN is united and focused on these elections.
