The DA took to Twitter to reveal that it has deployed Annette Steyn to represent it in Senekal, in light of the recent spate of farm attacks and murders.
The Democratic Alliance’s (DA) Shadow Minister of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, Annette Steyn is representing the party in Senekal, according to a Twitter post on Friday, 16 October 2020. In the video shared, Steyn revealed that she was deployed by interim DA Federal Leader, John Steenhuisen to the Senekal Magistrate’s Court, in support of the fight for justice for farming communities under attack.
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is also at the court to ensure that the Constitution is “protected” against the Senekal community, according to a tweet earlier this morning. This follows the recent vandalism and looting of the court during the proceedings of slain farmer, Brendin Horner’s case.
In the post, Steyn reiterated the DA’s support of the farming communities under attack, further stating that the party’s presence is an act of solidarity in the pursuit of justice. The EFF, on the other hand, believes that the issue is being blown out of proportion.
