The DA took to Twitter to confirm that its upcoming congress will take place virtually, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown restrictions.

The Democratic Alliance (DA) took to Twitter on Friday, 23 October 2020, and shared an announcement post confirming that its upcoming congress will take place online. This will mark the first time that the party hosts the congress virtually, however, the post did not share any other details on how the virtual session will be conducted.

The congress will see the party members placing their votes to elect some of the most contested Federal Council positions. Two of the most eagerly awaited results are for the DA’s Federal Leader and Federal Council Chairperson positions.

The post also went on to reveal that there are eight days to the congress, which will take place on Saturday, 31 October 2020. The DA has yet to announce the starting time of the congress.
