DA calls for the dismissal of Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula
The DA has released a statement calling for the dismissal of Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, following the ANC’s admission to the abuse of state resources on a recent trip to Zimbabwe.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) released a statement on Tuesday, 15 September 2020, calling for the dismissal of Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula. The call for her immediate dismissal is in light of the statement released by the African National Congress (ANC) admitting to have boarded the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) Airforce jet to travel to Zimbabwe for non-state matters.
The DA stated, “It is now clear that Mapisa-Nqakula wilfully allowed the ANC delegation to abuse state resources for her party’s political ends. This was a gross violation of her oath of office, a dereliction of duty, and a complete disregard for ethical standards.”
As remedial action, the party plans to lay a complaint against the minister with the Integrity Committee. Additionally, the DA called for “a panel of aviation experts to determine the full cost of the ANC’s trip to Zimbabwe, including the wear and tear on the aircraft and other associated costs.”
See the post below.
In light of the ANC’s admission of shamelessly abusing an airforce jet to travel to Zimbabwe to meet their Zanu-PF counterparts, President Cyril Ramaphosa has no other option but to fire the Minister of Defence Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.#MilitaryUberhttps://t.co/8OecSj0ysR
