Mat Cuthbert of the DA has urged Minister Lindiwe Sisulu to read with comprehension before she wrecks herself, and has accused the minister of not doing her job.
On Monday, 28 June 2021, Shadow Deputy Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition for the Democratic Alliance (DA), Mat Cuthbert issued a response to the Minister of Human Settlements, Water and Sanitation, Lindiwe Sisulu. This is following what the DA believes to be Sisulu’s violation of section 195(g) of the Constitution.
Cuthbert and Sisulu have been in disagreement on the minister’s refusal to state the names of contractors involved in the Alliance Housing Project in Ekurhuleni. Sisulu previously stated that the decision not to mention the names of the contractors was for their safety.
Sisulu cited a guideline pertaining to the mention of personal details as her reason for not giving names. Cuthbert, together with the DA, has called on the minister to refrain from citing guidelines which merely exist to excuse her supposedly unconstitutional conduct. In closing, Cuthbert accused Sisulu of not doing her job.
