Ministers and MECs of health and transport will be taking part in COVID-19 regulations compliance monitoring at three Pretoria taxi ranks; Marabastad, Bloed and Bosman.
The presidency and the Department of Transport issued a statement on Wednesday, 23 June 2021, stating that law enforcement will monitor COVID-19 regulations compliance at various Pretoria taxi ranks. This is set to take place on Thursday, 24 June 2021, at three Pretoria taxi ranks; Marabastad, Bloed and Bosman.
The Gauteng MEC for Roads and Transport, Jacob Mamabolo and MEC for Health, Dr Nomathemba Mokgethi will be in attendance. To assist the law enforcement and the MECs with the COVID-19 regulations compliance monitoring at the taxi ranks, the Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula, the acting Minister of Health, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, as well as the acting Minister in the Presidency, Khumbudzo Ntshavheni will also be joining.
The ministers and the MECs will join ongoing operations to monitor and check compliance with government regulations and directions as the country is currently under Alert Level 3 of the nationwide lockdown.
