The Labour Department has announced an extension of the ROE submissions deadline, which has now been moved to the end of May 2021.
The Department of Employment and Labour, on behalf of the Compensation Fund, took to Twitter on Monday, 22 February 2021, to announce an extension of the deadline date for the Return of Earnings (ROE) submissions. The statement announced that the new deadline date is now Monday, 31 May 2021.
The statement did not explicitly state why the deadline has been changed. However, of late, the Labour Department has been working towards ensuring that its common services can be provided online. The online operations are to avoid foot traffic at nationwide centres, as a way to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
While there could be another reason for the extension, the above is corroborated by the statement advising that submissions be done through the website. Moreover, the website will only begin to accept submissions on Thursday, 1 April 2021.
