In a Twitter post on Monday, 6 January 2020, City Power notified residents of a power trip at the New Road Bekker Street feeder, which resulted in the total loss of supply to various areas. The power trip has affected Halfway Gardens, Vorna Valley, Vorna Valley extension 21 and Vorna Valley extension 56. A team has been dispatched to investigate the cause and restore power.
