Chirwa claims IEC is captured

Published on

Naledi Chirwa has expressed her outrage at the supposed incompetence of the IEC in the Eastern Cape for not registering its people on time, further claiming that the commission is captured.

The Economic Freedom Fighters’ (EFF) Naledi Chirwa took to Twitter on Tuesday, 8 June 2021, to express her frustration with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) of the Eastern Cape, Kareedouw for not ensuring that residents registered to vote on time. Chirwa also claimed that the IEC is captured and needs intervention.

Chirwa seemed not in the least bit impressed by the IEC of the Eastern Cape. By now, every person they had brought forth to the IEC of the province should already be successfully registered to vote, however, that is not the case.

Chirwa stated, “It is not even 9am and I’m already screaming my lungs out because the IEC in the Eastern Cape, Kareedouw didn’t register the people we kept bringing to them to get registered. Two weeks later! The IEC is captured and serious intervention is needed.”
