Carl Niehaus responds to Fikile Mbalula’s inflammatory tweets
Carl Niehaus has responded to the inflammatory tweets by fellow ANC NEC member, Fikile Mbalula, alleging that he is a “thug” associated with the controversial Ace Magashule.
Carl Niehaus took to Twitter on Monday, 12 October 2020, to respond to the inflammatory tweets directed at him by Minister of Transport, Fikile Mbalula. The minister labelled Niehaus and other uMkhonto weSizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) members as the “thugs.” This comes after the association reportedly called for the dismissal of Mbalula for his handling of the PRASA matter, to which Mbalula retaliated by suggesting that the association previously used PRASA as a “cash cow.”
The first responsive tweet from Niehaus was to address being labelled a “thug,” stating, “Some of these cadres are old enough to be your parents. These are cadres who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, yours too, and are suffering neglect and poverty. Respect!”
Niehaus went on to ask for Mbalula to take down the inflammatory tweet and to publicly apologise, which Mbalula has not done yet.
See the post below.
Minister @MbalulaFikile the day you are an @MYANC veteran of 42 years, who served 10 years as a political prisoner for my membership of the #ANC & #MK you can dare to talk to me in this tone. You’re not worthy to walk in the old shoes of those MK cadres that you insulted.
