The female national team of Cameroon on Saturday night made a spirited performance after coming from behind to defeat Mali 2-1 in the second Group A game of the ongoing African Women’s Championship in Accra.
Cameroon, after the recess, went down by a goal courtesy of Malian goal poacher, Asseta in the 61st minute.
Cameroon responded by dominating every department of the game. They bounced back in the 71st minute, and scored again a few minutes later.
The results therefore send Cameroon on top of Group A with three points, followed by Ghana on same points.
Mali, and the other group opponents Algeria, have no points.
The defeat, according to commentators is the seventh loss in an opening game of a major tournament by Mali, who showed promise in the first half.
