Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari, has joined world leaders in mourning the passing of former United States President, George Bush.
The statement by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina, said President Buhari on Monday, 3 December 2018, described Bush as a leader who lived a life of service to his country and humanity.
He extended condolences to the government and people of America, as well as the family of the 41st US President and all political associates of the great leader, whose legacies continue to inspire and attract encomiums across the world.
Buhari expressed the belief that the passing of Bush is a loss not just to the US, but the entire world, especially the many people he inspired.
He extolled the former president’s love for his family and country, saying it has remained legendary as clearly seen in the way his children have taken up leadership roles and were steadily breeding a new generation of great thinkers and leaders.
The Nigerian leader prayed for God’s comfort on the mourning nation, the family of the nonagenarian and a peaceful rest for his soul.
