The newest season of Op my eish! has only just finished airing, but it seems like Brendan and Janae, the season’s winner, have already called it quits.
Brendan Peyper has spent the better part of the last year trying to find love on Op my eish!. But although the singer chose Janae as the winner of season three, it seems his heart is still up for grabs.
Is Brendan Peyper already single again?
Hopeless romantics all across the country have been tuning in weekly over the course of the last couple of months to watch the Afrikaans singer, Brendan Peyper, attempt to find his dream girl on the kykNET, show Op my eish!
And, after months of dating, chatting, fighting, kissing and saying goodbye – Brendan finally made his ultimate decision and chose Janae Stander as the winner of Op my eish! season three.
However, just because the cameras have stopped rolling, it does not mean that this newly-established couple’s drama has come to an end, there is seemingly already trouble in paradise for Op my eish!’s newest lovebirds.
The reality of finding love on television
While reality television dating shows can often appear like a fairy tale from the outside, Brendan and Janae have revealed that their love story has not been quite as glamorous.
According to Brendan’s rough estimation, he and Janae only spent about four hours (at most), together on set during the eight weeks of filming season three of Op my eish!.
Four hours is hardly enough to really get to know someone, especially when you are surrounded by cameras, and about 15 other girls also vying for Brendan’s attention.
So it is officially… unofficial?
It has now been around six months since the filming of season three of Op my eish! wrapped. And, while most reality competition fans would be expecting to hear wedding bells by now, Brendan and Janae have decided to take things slow.
The couple has already admitted that they are not in a serious relationship, despite the fact that Brendan chose Janae as his winner. And, unfortunately, their most recent revelations do not spark much hope for a ‘happily ever after’.
Are Brendan and Janae still together? – Where things stand now
Previously, we remarked that neither Brendan nor Janae have posted any real photos together, since it was revealed that she won the competition (this still has not changed).
But, to add to this, the pair have now also described the beginning of their relationship as “difficult”.
When Brendan and Janae were asked whether there is hope for their relationship during the reunion, the answer was a rather uncertain “we hope so”. But it seems like this hope has now faltered.
Brendan has now reportedly admitted, post-reunion, that he and Janae have decided they are better off as just friends. This means that Brendan is officially single (and on the Op my eish! market) again.
