Bonang Matheba was named Style Influencer of the Year at the Glitz Style Awards in Ghana over the weekend.
Media personality Bonang Matheba is known for her deft sense of style when choosing both casual and red-carpet wear. Furthermore, the success of her recently launched T-shirt range and lingerie collection provide evidence of her far-reaching influence within the South African fashion landscape.
Over the weekend, Matheba was awarded the Style Influencer of the Year nod at the Glitz Style Awards which took place in Ghana. However, she was not in attendance at the ceremony and was therefore unaware of her win until Monday afternoon.
Matheba’s dedicated Twitter fan base, called B-Force, notified the television star of her win. They tweeted, “Congrats @bonang_m on winning Style Influencer of the Year at the Glitz Style Awards held in Ghana this past weekend.” Matheba replied to the news, writing, “We won?! Oh my, that’s incredible!! 😳💃💃💃🚀❤️🇿🇦”, and, “That’s amazing. Whoop!! 🚀🚀.”
September is turning out to be a stellar month for Matheba already. She is GQ magazine’s stand-alone cover star and recently jetted off to London to celebrate her achievement with her celebrity bestie, Lorna Maseko.
Matheba announced at the end of August that she is offering three final year high school students a dream matric ball experience. She will be giving away three of her favourite red-carpet ensembles to the winners and will sponsor a glam makeover for the young ladies.
