Bonang Matheba celebrated her stand-alone cover of the GQ magazine at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg on Thursday, 23 August 2018.
On Thursday, media darling Bonang Matheba announced that she is GQ magazineโs cover star for their September Power Issue. She is the first South African woman to be featured on the magazine cover as a stand-alone, making this an incredible feat for her. Matheba chose to celebrate her success with a group of close friends, including celebrity bestie Lorna Maseko, at the Westcliff Hotel in Johannesburg.
Matheba posted a series of photographs of herself celebrating with friends to her Instagram on Thursday. She wrote, โ..Iโm a GQ COVER GIRL! ๐๐๐๐ฝ๐ #GQxBonang #PowerIssue,โ to caption an image of herself kissing a blown-up print of the magazine cover. Her travel partner and long-time friend, celebrity cook Lorna Maseko posted her congratulations, saying, โMore radiant than ever…… It just keeps getting better….. Congratulations Dolly #GQxBonang๐ฅ๐๐๐ฅ ๐ธ.โ The two then seemingly set off on a spontaneous vacation, as Matheba wrote, โ….all aboard the spontaneous express….โ๏ธ๐๐๐๐,โ as she posed with an array of luxury travel bags.
Bonang Matheba has previously posed for the covers of True Love, Marie Claire, Destiny, Seventeen, Grazia and Cosmopolitan. The GQ September edition will be on shelves from Monday, 27 August 2018.
